First I have to give SC props. It's definitely one of the best video games I've ever played. The graphics are amazing, the play is fast and furious, and it's just so much fun to whomp your opponent like a redheaded stepchild. I loved SC2 and SC3, and I was so excited when I heard about 4. First, I love how they included Darth Vader and The Apprentice in SC4. I knew I was getting Vader, but ... I think his name is Starkiller actually, well, he was a lovely surprise. I could only be happier if they gave me Jane Eyre and Elvis Cole. I love how you can edit the fighters' clothing now. I love Ivy, but I'm not crazy about seeing her butt cheeks hanging out. I created a version of her in coulotts, flip flops, and a neat updo. And of course you can create your own characters. And there are some really funny and awesome weapons available now, such as hula hoops, giant squids, a ladle and pot lid, a surf board, shish kebabs, a huge chicken leg, and a giant corn cob! You can create Colonel Sanders if you so please. How fun is that? Heck, maybe I'll try to create Jane and Elvis on my own... Here's what I hate about SC4: 1) Your character's defense depends on his/her wardrobe. That is, if you send Ivy running around in just a tee shirt and coulotts and flip flops, she's not going to defend herself as well as if she's wearing a breastplate and gauntlets. Okay, it's logical, but it's new and it bugs me. 2) They changed all the combos! I had to relearn what buttons to press to get the character to do what I wanted. What a pain in the neck! It seems like there are half the throws available, too. 3) The Moves list has been shortened dramatically. You can still do a lot of combos and such, but they only provide a partial list. 4) What happened to the camera controls? I used to love to control the camera in SC3. You can't do it here. 5) The load times are so long now. It's a PS3! Come ON! 6) You can't go on missions anymore, or build teams. Quite a few nits, huh? But I still love playing it, and I'm looking forward to SC5.

I've played Soul Calibur for the PS2 before, so I was excited to get Soul Calibur IV for the PS3... But the excitement was short-lived...while the graphics are considerably better, there isn't that much new in the game to justify the $[...] I paid for it! Same as other Soul Caliburs for the most part, so if you have an earlier version, I wouldn't bother buying this one. If you've never played Soul Calibur, it's fun so you might wanna try it, but Soul Calibur IV had nothing special about it that made it appeal more to me than say, Soul Calibur III.

This is a great game. I just wish Yoda was included in the PS3 version. I guess I'm going to have to break down and pay the extra 5 bucks to download the Yoda character from the PS3 network. How can they even think about having Darth Vader and not Yoda... I guess they do that to get you to download the character. I guess if Yoda was included, then they would make you pay 5 bucks for Darth Varder...
