If you love your PS2 to death like I do, yet have already upgraded to HDTV, (and a PS3) this is PERFECT. Gamestop sells a cheaper version of these cables, but they do not use oxygen-free copper in the already thinner wires, do not use gold-plated contacts, and do not have a ferrite filter core around the base of the cable. All you have to remember to do is change the video output setting in the PS2 menu itself in order to activate the cable. As for audio, grab a fiber optic cable. Long live the PS2 and its $10 miracle games.

Wanted to get the best out of my tube-tv. So I decided to hook up my PS3 via component cables. Works fine with my tv. Don't expect to see a huge difference from the composite cables.

[...] I bought my PS3 knowing that my 19" LCD TV wasn't going to do it justice. We're sort of technologically behind as far as TVs go here at home, so no HD for us...my TV is the newest in our home and we bought it right before the HD craze. After I took my PS3 to a friend's house and actually played it on an HDTV, the standard composite cables were just not enough. I was happy but slightly hesitant to buy these component cables - I had never had anything that used them and I didn't want to buy them and be disappointed. But I'm definitely NOT disappointed. My games look a lot clearer - the small subtitles on my PS3 games are not cloudy anymore, and everything looks much more defined. Even my PS2 games when played on my PS3 look better. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and highly recommend them for PS3 owners like me who have a TV with component plugs but no HDMI.
