We primarily purchased the Playstation 3 as a Blu-Ray player, so it only made sense to get the remote. It was easy to pair the remote to the console (though there is a process involved; it won't work automatically). I really can't imagine controlling Blu-Rays without this remote. My husband and I are very happy with our purchase: great price, excellent functionality, very convenient.

First off, some of the buttons are tiny. Back for example, a very commonly used button on the remote, is smaller than the size of the tip of a pencil erasure. Also, there is a Play button and below that is the stop button and below that is the pause button. Play->Stop->Pause not Play->Pause->Stop which is the more logical order of actions in mind. Sort of like the order of severity. This is unlike any other remote I have ever used and if you should accidentally hit stop during a blue-ray movie you have to wait for the root menu to load, then the dvd menu, then go to the chapter you were at, and then fast forward to the exact position you were at. That's right, no automatic resume for blue ray movies. It hard to describe how frustrating this is until you have done two or three times in a row and you probably will because there is not back lighting so it is really easy to hit buttons by accident or be off by one in the dark, sooooo frustrating! Not only do I hate the remote but I hate that Sony decided to go with blue-ray so that you can't use any other remote aside from this nightmare or the game controller itself. There are things I love about my PS3 but this is not one of them!
