I purchased one of these Logitech Cordless Action controllers from a local branch of Target a little over a year ago. The controller has taken a whole load of punishment in my household. I play alot and I've got a three year old nephew who likes to pretend that he's playing video games with me when he's visiting. I often let him hold onto the controller if I am not using it, and you can imagine the things he'll do to it. Still, after taking all that abuse, it has never malfunctioned once. The controller also has a really long battery life. It's powered by two standard AA batteries. I have to change it's batteries only once every three to four months. There is one more little tidbit I want to share about this controller. Believe it or not it is backwards compatible with the PS1! That's right it will work with the PS1, I discovered this by entirely by accident while fooling around afew days ago. There is just one small problem, it's reciever is a bit too big. It fits in the PS1 controller ports nicely, but it is tall enough to partially cover the memory card slot above the port it's in.

NEEDED NEW CONTROLLER CAUSE CORD ON ORIGINAL WAS MANGLED FROM HEAVY USE..BOUGHT A PS2 DUPLICATE OF ORIGINAL CONTROLLER... IT WAS CHEAP MADE CRAP..CONTROLLER BROKE IN HALF WHILE PLAYIN MADDEN... SO I TRIED THIS CONTROLLER AND I'LL HAVE TO SAY I WAS PLEASED WITH THE PURCHASE, PROS: GREAT DURABILITY, NO DANGLING CORDS TO TRIP OVER, HAS A SLEEP MODE WHEN NOT IN USE SO IT DOES NOT DRAIN BATTERIES, BETTER GRIP THAN ORIGINAL CONTROLLER, MORE PADDING AND BULK THAN ORIGINAL CONTROLLER FOR MORE COMFORTABLE GAMEPLAY,BATTERIES DONT JUST FALL OUT LIKE SOME MADCATZ VERSIONS, JOYSTICK AND TOGGLE MAKE FOR SOLID GAMEPLAY, THE APPERANCE OF THIS CONTROLLER IS MORE APPEALING(X,O,SQUARE,TRIANGLE BUTTONS ARE COLORED GREY NOT GREEN PURPLE RED BLUE) CONS: USING THE VIBRATION MODE DRAINS BATTERIES FASTER PLUS VIBRATION MODE IS AMATEUR COMPARED TO ORIGINAL PS2 DUAL SHOCK CONTROLLER TIPS: DONT USE RECHARAGABLE BATTERIES UNLESS YOU WANT TO KEEP RECHARING THEM EVERY 72HOURS THE BATTERIES THAT COMES WITH THE GAME LAST A LONG TIME

Since taking up the PS2 a couple years ago, we've purchased about ten controllers total. Sadlly, most have lasted only a few weeks, thanks to the clankity-clank of our six-year-old dropping them on our tile floor. (What can I say? He gets excited when roughing up Lego Darth Vadar.) But back to this controller, I flinch when I hear that clankity-clank noise, because it sounds a lot like 30 bucks gushing down the drain. Out of the ten controllers (at least!) I've bought over two years, only three have survived -- one I don't let my six-year-old play with, and two of this type/brand. (And yes, he did destroy one of this type. Odd how even good products stop working after being dropped a few dozen times. Go figure.) All in all though, I've found this one to be a ton more durable than the others, including a Nerf one that I expected to last a whole lot longer, given its padded design. That one lasted only two weeks. But I digress. In short, this is the only controller I'd buy for someone who's hard on things. Like a six-year old. Or my husband, who can be a barbarian, both in the literal and figurative sense.
